All over this beautiful, diverse region there are good farm stays and gites to be found. Other outdoor activities can be arranged too such as horse riding, rowing, glider flying, fishing etc. They keep a number of those iconic Camargue Horses at Le Mas de Peint and horse riding tours can be arranged, as can 4WD and mountain bike tours. THE ACCOMMODATION: They have a range of B&B rooms and suites to sleep up to three people per room in their traditional French farmhouse. The city of Amiens is under an hour away to the south, and beyond that Paris which can be reached in about two and a half hours. There are other courses at the farm too; photography, flower arranging, gardening, origami and even beekeeping. There is a common lounge area with TV at the farmhouse and the rooms have their own private entrance with a terrace just outside. THE FARM: It is a lively working farm with sheep, donkeys, ponies, chickens and geese, all of them are friendly and well used to visitors and children will particularly love the interaction with the animals. The Rhone river gave the region its name and though many parts of the region along the Rhone have, from centuries of trade and industry, become quite built up, there is still much beautiful open countryside with more vineyards and fruit farms. The on site restaurant, Le Petit Lucullus, is very well respected in Provence, and apart from the generous breakfast which is included in the room rate you can treat yourself to some fabulous meals throughout the day, paired with some equally great wines.
